Introduction

EPDM disc aerators are used in wastewater treatment and are used to transfer air and oxygen to sewage or industrial wastewater. Microorganisms in the water need oxygen to break down pollutants. Small bubble diffusers produce large numbers of very small bubbles, which slowly rise from the aeration tank floor of a wastewater treatment plant or a sewage treatment plant, providing a large amount of effective oxygen mass transfer to water. The combination of oxygen and food-derived sewage allows bacteria to produce enzymes that help break down the waste, which can then be precipitated in a secondary clarifier or membrane filtered.
