Character

Pure anhydrous ethylene urea is white crystal, melting point 131 degree celsius. The crystal in water aqueous solution is hemihydrate, the hemihydrate can be dehydrated to anhydras ethylene urea under the room temperature. It hs two crystal forms, conversion temperature is 80 degree celsius. It has good heat stability, won’t descompose at 220 degree celsius, its boiling point being 192 degree celsius/2.13 Kpa; 187 degree celsius/1.33Kpa; 160 degree celsius/0.4Kpa. Slightly soluble in ether, being weak alkaline in aqueous solution, the PH value in 20% aqueous solution is 10. It will sharply hydrolyze into ethylenediamine and CO2 in ether, acid or alkali.

Application

Mainlt to be used for synthesis of the third generation penicillins semisynthetic antibiotics, such as mezlocillin, azlocillin. It is also broadly used in the synthesis of the anti-schistosome drug, chemical sterilization, the antiseptic, herbicide etc. Used as formaldehyde capture agent, removing the remained formaldehyde in textile, which has been processed through 2D resin, KB resin, urea-formaldehyde resin, melamine formaldehyde resin etc. It can also be used in the manufacture of resin, plasticizer, pqint, adhesive and so on.

Storage Conditions: sealed in a cool, dry and ventilated place to avoid the same as the oxide.
